camera malfunctioning

One of my nest cameras just randomly stopped working and it says offline due to dead battery but that's clearly not true as the camera is plugged in and the green led is on. I tried resetting network (nest wifi) and I even tried to factory reset the camera which I believe it failed to do. I held the button on the back of the cam for about 20 seconds. Usually I would hear the first chime and then yellow light but that didn't happen. I heard half a chime and it sounds like it was cut off and no yellow lights. The led turned off then back to green. I tried this several times with the same result. 

Is this camera dead or is there something else I should try? It's only a month or so old.
