Has anyone figured out how to reduce the data usage for the camera and only record (us data to send info to the cloud) when motion is detected?

Thank you that is good info. I want the history but I don’t need it recording and sending data to the cloud unless there is motion, which should be almost never. Currently it’s using 1.6 gb a day for three cameras. That’s a lot.

Yes they can eat through internet bandwidth if recording 24/7. Thankfully I have unlimited bandwidth because I just checked and one of my cameras has used 258GB in the last 30 days.

Exactly the problem I am up against. I have unlimited however the speed jumps down significantly at a certain point. Fortunately slow speed still works. Has anyone tried to get Google to only record when motion is detected and not faces that have been "approved" as known and ok?
