installed the gen 2 wired doorbell. The blue light in on but no white light and doesn't ring.

Just installed the doorbell gen 2. The transformer puts out 18 volts and I verified it with my volt meter. When i turn on the power the blue light on the camera comes on but I do not see a light on the ringer nor does the doorbell ring. To debug, i reinstalled, did a factory reset and still no change. My thought is that the unit in defective. Not sure if I can do anything else before I return it.

Hi folks,

Checking in — have you tried the troubleshooting steps suggested by faridhanazari? If so, how did it go? Let me know if you need more help.

I appreciate your help, faridhanazari.

Thanks,

JT

I did including doing the factory reset. I've reinstalled it several times. The transformer is putting out 18 volts so it is getting the proper power.

Hey clofts,

Got it, thanks for the information. The suggested transformer power voltage for the Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen) is 16-24 V AC, 30 VA. To learn more, check out this page: Upgrade your transformer for Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen).

Thanks,

JT
