installing nest outdoor cam gives the wrong serial number in setup and no error code

We changes our router so I am re-installing the cameras. Don't have the QR codes anymore so I am adding the setup code manually. Lst time wew had to change things it worked fine. This time it reaches the point in the install where is asks to select the matching end digits of the sereial # and what is displayed does not match, same result and same wrong serial showing up for 2 different cameras when I try. No error codes. How do I get past this? Installing via the Nest app on my Android phone.

Thanks

@LaylaGrrl

Did you remove your cameras from the Google Nest app while you were still on your old Wi-Fi network, in order to factory reset your cameras?

And are you attempting the reinstall in the Google Nest app (since you have 1st gen Google Nest Outdoor Cameras)?

No, I pressed the reset button on the camera before trying to reconnect to the new network to reset them. I have the nest app installed. I am trying to connect the cameras to the new network. I add new device to app, input the set up code manually and everything works up until when the Nest app prompts me with the choice to pick the correct ending letters of the serial number that match my camera, but the number the nest app displays does not match either of my cameras.

@LaylaGrrl

If you have 1st gen Google Nest Outdoor Cameras (installed in the Google Nest app and not sold by Google Nest since Sept. 2021)--as indicated by your post--then there is no reset button: "There is no factory reset button on Nest Cam Indoor and Nest Cam Outdoor" (as noted in the link I provided).

On the other hand, if you have the newer 2nd gen Google Nest Battery Cameras (indoor or outdoor)--installed in the Google Home app and available starting in Sept. 2021--and you are trying to install them in the Google Nest app, that might explain why you are not getting the correct serial number(s), since they cannot be installed in the Google Nest app.  They can only be installed in the Google Home app.

Maybe that is the problem, but I originally tried to install via the Gogle home app and received a message I need to use the nest app.. I will try again

@LaylaGrrl

If you have 2nd gen Google Nest Battery Cameras, it's odd that you would receive a message saying you needed to use the Google Nest app.  Are you on the latest version of the Google Home app?

This is the 1st gen Google Nest Outdoor Camera, installed in the Google Nest app and no longer sold by Google Nest:

This is the 2nd gen Google Nest Battery Camera, installed in the Google Home app:

Based on this I have the 2nd Gen. will update once I attempt adding again and will make sure I have the latest GH app
