nest camera

My nest camera for my backyard is saying "device offline because of extreme temperature."  I have not had the camera set up for 2 weeks now because of this notice, and I keep getting the notice even though it is not hooked up.

It hangs over an awning should not be overheated and my other two cameras are not hanging over an awning and they are fine.

Not sure what to do with the camera that it is not working?  Return?

Thank you.

Linda

@obxmomm

That seems unusual. In 3+ years of using Google Nest cameras and doorbells--including a Google Nest Camera (Battery) plugged in at all times--we haven't encountered a temperature error, either in Minnesota winter cold (-20 F) or Minnesota summer heat (100 F). All of our cameras are either under an eave or under a camera shade, but 2 of our doorbells get direct afternoon sunshine for awhile. If your camera is new, perhaps it's defective.
