nest doorbell - nest aware- package alert

I've actually had my doorbell a while, we live in a safe, no crime area, but we were doing a remodel and it was suggested by our contractor in case we ever sold in the future, it would be a nice upgrade. We used it at fist just to see the animals that passed the porch at night, After the trial we didn't renew the nest Aware, But recently packages have become a common item stolen and every night. And it seem that's when they are delivered. We need our nest to step up and work,  I'm trying to

1) refocus it- zoom in on our porch

2) get package alert to work

thank you for any assistance,  I have a Droid if it matters and it appears I have the right version of nest aware, but it doesn't act like it.

I'm not sure what you mean when you say you have the right version of Nest Aware "but it doesn't act like it."

You can check your subscription here: https://store.google.com/subscriptions?hl=en-US, and when you select it, it shows the Google Nest "home/structure" to which the subscription applies. In the Google Nest app or the Google Home app you can select Settings | Nest Aware to see what subscription is active in the Google Nest "home/structure" to which you are connected.
