nestcam battery won't charge

My Nest Cam has been in use without a problem for almost three years.  Now it is not working and the app tells me the battery is not charging.  I have tested the outlet and the charge cord.  It appears that the battery is dead.  How can it be replaced?

Hello @menakermitchell

Thanks for posting to the Google Nest Community. I’m sorry to hear you’re experiencing trouble with your Nest Cam (battery). It has been working fine for almost three years, but now the battery is not charging, appearing to be dead. I appreciate the troubleshooting steps you’ve already taken. Don’t worry; it's a pleasure to assist you.

To provide you with further information, please help me answer the following questions:

  • Are you able to check the camera feed?
  • Did you receive any notification from the Google Home app?
  • Have you experienced any power outages recently?
  • Could you please check the camera's battery status in the Google Home app? The app often provides a specific description of the power state. You can find this by following these steps:
    1. Open the Google Home app.
    2. Tap Home > Cameras > the camera you need to check.
    3. Tap More (three dots) > Settings.
    4. Under “Device features,” tap Battery.

Additionally, please clean the power charger with a dry cotton swab to clean off any dirt buildup on the connectors and then verify if the issue persists .

I'll be waiting for your response.

Best regards,
Daniel
