unable to connect to

I have two Nest Cam Outdoor or Nest Cam Indoor (with battery) that were working fine. I got a new router; set up a new wifi network and created a new Home. I then added back all my devices to the new Home. But I cannot add back the cameras. I get the error "Try moving closer to your Nest Cam (battery). Make sure your Nest Cam (battery) is on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your phone."

I am standing right next to cameras. I've tried all the troubleshooting steps; both cameras show green lights. I just cannot connect to either. Troubleshooting says to unplug the devices, but the cameras have batteries; so they don't cycle off & on.

what now?

If your status light shows as green (rather than a flashing blue) on your cameras, you probably have not performed a factory reset to clear all of its settings, including the Wi-Fi settings. Make sure you use the "Factory reset" instructions, not the "Restart" instructions:

Google Nest does not make it easy to update Wi-Fi settings on its devices. That's why their first recommendation is to use your old network name [SSID] and password on your new router/modem, if possible.

Wow; thanks for much for your (fast!) reply. That fixed it. You know why I couldn't figure it out? It's because these cameras don't have model names... It just says "Nest Cam" on the box.

Where you select the model by the image of the device, mine is a "Nest Cam Outdoor or Nest Cam Indoor (with battery)" but on the "Factory Restart" section of the Help page, I select the closest model name: "Nest Cam (indoor and outdoor)" and here it says: "There is no factory reset button on Nest Cam Indoor and Nest Cam Outdoor."

To actually do a factory reset, I needed to select the model "Nest Cam (battery) or Nest Cam with Floodlight" but mine doesn't have a floodlight, so I didn't think to look there...

Anyway, thanks again!

I'm glad that helped.

The inconsistent ways in which Google Nest refers to its cameras and doorbells in its product literature, online store, packaging, and online help leads to endless confusion, and having some models supported by the Google Nest app and others supported by the Google Home app does not help.
