Attempting to stream -keep being told to use Google Cast

I'm trying to stream from my phone to my tvs built-in chromecast as I always do but keep being told to use Google Cast. I think this may have something to do with my new Samsung Tab and things I enabled Google to do today - but have no idea what. PS I have no idea what version of chromecast is installed in my 3 year old tv

I am sorry about the late response, thank you for your patience! Were you able to fix that casting issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, as I know troubleshooting this alone can be tough. Let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:

  • Does this issue only occur with that Samsung Tab?
  • Is your Chromecast's firmware up-to-date?
  • Does this issue occur one only one app, or many apps?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?
