I can't setup my chromecast after I reset the Chromecast and reboot my phone and router, in the Google home app it shows "Chromecast found, it need to be activated before set up" .

@Elisajoia, we appreciate you trying the steps. Based on your description, it seems that the Chromecast device didn’t receive updates. It may have had a time off for quite some time. The “need to activate” message means it’s missing updates, thus the need for the Device Utility App. Obviously, you’re using an Android device, because if you’re setting it up on an iOS device, it wouldn’t require this Device Utility App.
Since you already performed a factory reset on your Chromecast device, try to clear the cache and data for both the Google Home App and the Device Utility App. You can delete both apps and restart your phone before reinstalling them. Proceed with set-up, and if it still fails, I suggest you try another phone for set-up.
