Can't use supervised teen accounts with Chromecast Google TV

I use account supervision for my kids' Google accounts, allowing me to monitor their activities and set restrictions on screentime. For teen accounts, this does not limit their ability to access the full YouTube experience and to install their own apps on any of their phones and tablets.

I recently got a new Chromecast with Google TV to replace my 1st gen Chromecast. I was very disappointed to find out that it is not possible to sign into Google TV as a supervised account. The only option is to create a Kids Profile, which can only access YouTube Kids (not the full YouTube) and has other restrictions that do not wash with teenagers.

I did try to "trick" the device into allowing the account to sign in by temporarily removing Supervision, adding the account to Google TV, and then re-enabling Supervision. Unfortunately the Google TV figured out what I did, and shows messages stating that the supervised account needs to be removed. 

I'm pretty sure this limitation is intentional from Google's perspective, but it's enormously frustrating and inconsistent with the experience my kids can enjoy on all other devices (phones, tables, smart TVs, etc). If this is the case, please Google can you address this to either allow supervised accounts to log in as normal accounts, or at the very least allow parents to enable the full YouTube experience for older kids using Kids Profiles?

(If anyone in the community has any workarounds I may not have thought of, I'd love to hear those too).

I agree, however there is no workaround for this unfortunately. This is mostly a user to user community, therefore if this is important to you, I’d encourage you to also send this feedback directly to Google. You will not receive a response, unless Google need more details from you, however the team are still reading the feedback.
