Casting local music to speaker group??

Farmzki

in speaker groups, in the home app... There is no option to cast local music to the speaker group? Is there any good apps to do this with? Or a way to fix this home app issue... Google sucks, they don't even respond to this BASIC functionality problem... Google... You suck...

I know you are frustrated.  But, we ask that you watch your language here.  This is an open forum and we get kids too.  We don't want to have to remove your post.  Also, you aren't talking to Google here.  We're users who are volunteering to help other users.

When you cast, the source-server (not your device) pushes the data to the Chromecast.    That's why you can't cast local content; it isn't on the server.

If you really want to do this and are using an Android device, use Screen Mirroring to cast your local content.   You will get EVERY sound that your device makes, not just music.

Hey there Farmzki,

I apologize about the late response, thank you for your patience. Casting from a local file is also something I know I would use, if you have the time, would you be able to submit feedback via the Google Home app? While Google won't respond directly back to you, this is the best way to let Google know what features you'd like to see in the future.

I'm sorry I couldn't have been more help, but if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know.

Best regards,
Jeran
