Chrome Cast Audio casting to a DAC.

I am trying to cast Tidal to my home audio system using a Cambridge Audio DAC. I have a Toslink cable running from the CCA to the CA DAC. It will only cast 44Khz. From what I have read the CCA is supposed to cast up to 96Khz. I have the same problem with Amazon music. YTube music will cast 48Khz. Am I missing something or is it a limitation with CCA and music streaming services? If I connect my PC to the DAC it works fine.

Some streaming services do not yet support high sample rate audio while casting.

For example, in my case, I use Chromecast with Google TV connected to a powered USB-C hub. The USB-C hub is connected via USB to a an audio DAC. The audio sample rate delivered by Chromecast with Google TV via USB is 96 KHz.

Try this: download a 96 khz 24 bit uncompressed audio file to your phone, cast it to the Chromecast audio device and observe what sample rate your DAC reports.

Do you use Tidal connect to send audio to your Chromecast device?

Do you have a Tidal Hi-Fi Plus subscription?

In Tidal application for Android, under Settings - Streaming, enable Master.
