Chrome cast 1st Gen second hand

I bought a used Chromecast and I plugged it into my TV, the first thing that pops up is what I’m assuming is the old owner’s wifi network. It says “reconnect me" and lists the old Wi-Fi title and such, there is a 4 digit code on the screen. I went into the Google Home App and it’s not finding the device. Not sure what to do.

Go through the initial setup steps to teach your Chromecast how to connect to your network:

Hi folks,

Thanks for the help here, Byteguy.

Miranda1, how's it going? Still need help? If so, please reboot the Chromecast and manually connect to the Chromecast SSID. Here's how: Go to the phone settings > Open Wi-Fi and connect to the Chromecast SSID (Example: Chromecast1234, Living Room TV, Bedroom TV, etc.) > Go to the Google Home app and try to set it up again.

If the issue persists, do a factory reset on the Chromecast.

Thanks,

Jennifer
