Chrome cast remote limited when casting from mobile

Hi, when I'm casting YouTube from my mobile phone I'm not able to use my remote to navigate or pause the video. The remote is limited to volume control only. I'm not even able to click "skip ad" from the remote when casting from the mobile.

Is there a setting I'm missing or is the YouTube app deliberately made to ignore the remote when casting?

Hi GrayRayne,

Thanks for reaching out. Is this only happening with YouTube or across all apps? Can you skip ads when not casting YouTube videos on the TV? Please reboot your Chromecast with Google TV and clear the cache and data of the YouTube app. Trying on a different supported app might also help in isolating the issue.

Hi, I had the issue for a few weeks but it seems to be working atm. I'm not sure if it's an issue I can reproduce if it was something that I had done.

It started working again and after many days of connecting the mobile it hasn't seemed to stop the remote from working.

I think the issue is fixed.
