So for a few years now, I've had an issue with my 3rd gen Chromecast, in which whenever I cast a YouTube video that seems to be running at 1080p60, the audio and video will start to stutter and hitch every few seconds. If I manually drop the resolution to 720p60, the issue seems to be gone. I've made sure to update the Chromecast to the latest version, reset the machine multiple times and tried switching to 50hz HDMI mode, to no avail. Furthermore, I've spent hours looking up forum posts, and the issue seems to be widespread. From what I've read, this problem seems to have occurred after an update that was rolled out a few years ago, and it doesn't seem to have been patched. I was wondering if anyone has found a solution since, and if so, how should I go about it?
Thank you.

Hi tomherman2,
Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. You mentioned that this is a Chromecast 3rd Gen, but can you confirm by clicking this link to identify the actual Chromecast device that you’re using? You can try to perform a factory reset, then set it up again from scratch. Can you also test it on another TV to isolate it? Let us know how it goes.
Thanks,
Kimy
