Hello,
Playing Youtube video at 1080p 60 fps causes stuttering every 1-5 seconds with chromecast 3rd Gen.
I have an excellent connexion (>150MB/s). Chromecast, my smartphone and my Box are close to each other.
Is there anybody else experiencing the same issue ? Is it a software or hardware issue ?
Videos with 30fps work correctly so a simple update allowing us to select FPS could fix the issue i guess.

Do yourself a favour and upgrade to Google Chromecast with Google TV, because it runs on its own Google TV interface and you have a settings menu where you can make adjustments. Furthermore, you can run the various supported applications directly on the Chromecast device.
Last, but not least, you can play Ultra HD (4K) content up to 60 FPS.
I would also urge you to take into consideration the fact that the various application developers, like Netflix, Disney, Amazon and others, may decide in the near future to drop support for older Chromecast devices.

Check your Chromecast device temperature and allow it to cool from time to time. If necessary, reboot the Chromecast device - unplug it from the main power grid for about 5 minutes then plug it back in.
Alternatively, you can upgrade to Chromecast with Google TV, which offers better internet connectivity, higher USB-C transfer rates and improved connectivity with other devices via powered USB-C hub. You can also use a gigabit Ethernet adapter.

I just bougth the Chromecast and i observed this issue in the first minutes. I already tried to reboot but, as i mentionned before, many users experience the same issue so the problem is likely to come from software/hardware problem.
I won't buy anything else, the prodcut is designed to handle 1080p 60fps videos (and I have a really good connexion).
Do you have 3rd Gen Chromecast and can you confirm the fact that you can play 1080p 60fps videos on Youtube ?

No, I don't use Chromecast 3rd generation.
I use a Chromecast with Google TV, connected to a powered USB-C hub with gigabit Ethernet port, a portable HDD, an Android DVD player and audio digital to analog converter. The system works flawlessly.
Chromecast 3rd generation had many complaints from its launch about playback stutter at 1080p 60 FPS.
My assessment is that it is not quite up to the job from a hardware point of view but it may very well be a software bug.
My advice to you is to provide feedback to Google support team, to let them know about the issue, although I assume they already know it.

Yes I think Google went big telling it could handle 1080p 60fps videos.
And as it automatically plays videos in the best possible quality, most of youtube videos stutter.
I hope they'll make an update allowing us to adjust the video quality...
