I was finally able to figure out  which area to right click the icon (at the top when it appears) but it is not intuitive and would be so much easier if you could post a few screenshots of how to do it.  The verbal instructions are not clear due to the changes in chrome.

Thanks.

Hello AndyH2,

Thanks for the reply. I just summarized it, but you’ll find complete details with images at this link: Cast from Chrome to your TV. You’ll find more details related to the Chrome browser directly on their own community page here: Google Chrome Help Community.

If you have concerns with your actual Chromecast device, please let us know.

Sincerely,

Kimy

Kimy, you are the least helpful person I have ever encountered in a help thread in my entire life and I've seen a lot of threads in my lifetime.

I'm going to go on a rant here for all those stumbling across this post wondering why in God's green earth google decided it would be a good idea to remove the cast button from the usual spot. The reason they did this I'm going to guess is because Google decided to lay off some UI employees who's soul job it is to determine the most user friendly way do things. In their place was an engineer. While great at engineering and developing they lack the most basic common sense on how typical users use chrome. They decided the cast button doesn't need to be visible, but tucked away under the save and share section of chrome...why? because they aren't UI designers and have no experience in that field, but hey, they are engineers, they are smart so why not? This is why the chrome cast button is now in the save and share section in your chrome. So for the next person trying to do a family movie night and trying to get chromecast to work, Godspeed, godspeed and good luck.

Hi rcjones12002,

We hear you. Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community—Chromecast. I take your feedback to improve my responses to assist other users. I also suggest that you send feedback to the Chrome browser team. We may be under one Google umbrella, but letting them know directly about how you feel about the changes would help improve the way they apply changes in the future. Feel free to create a new thread if you have concerns about your Chromecast device in the future.

Thanks,

Kimy

Yes I agree that Google moving a commonly used task such as cast is a very bad indication that Google is not in touch with users which has serious implication for future use.  Very disappointing and stone deaf to users on the part of Google.

Hi everyone,

For those who can seem to find the answer here in this thread, let me share this again in a summarized manner.

Kindly go to the 3 dots from the upper right and scroll down to click Save and Share; from there, you’ll find the Cast option at the bottom.

If you want to keep the cast icon, try this:

  1. As soon as you click Cast under Save and Share, the message box will pop out, and it’s looking for devices.
  2. From there, you’ll see the cast icon itself aligned with the 3 dots (upper right).
  3. Right-click the cast icon and put a check on the "Always show icon".

I hope this helps. Let us know if you still have other concerns.

Thanks,

Kimy
