Chromecast Gen1 - cannot set up

I am unable to set up my Chromecast gen 1. When plugged into the tv, a code appears and a message says impossible to connect to the wifi. I am unable to locate the device through the home all and also not able to connect it through the Device Utility app. The app recognize that the Chromecast is nearby but when I click on connect, an error message appears saying it couldn't connect and to make sure the Chromecast is nearby.

I apologize about the late response, thank you for being patient! Were you able to set up that Chromecast? If not, I'd be happy to help out, as I know these connection issues can be tricky. Let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:

  • When did this issue start happening?
  • Are you connecting to a 2.4GHz network?
  • What color is the LED light on the Chromecast?
  • Have you already tried to factory reset the Chromecast?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?

I would recommend that you check out this article on troubleshooting your Chromecast connection. Give the steps a try and let me know if you still have issues.
