I have a Chromecast with google tv and want to cast audio (using Youtube music) , have the Chromecast connected through Bluetooth to my receiver and NOT having my TV switched on. Is this possible? Or does my TV have to be unnecessarily turned on?
Thanks,
Mikael

I found the solution. It's the HDMI-CEC that turns casting off when tv is turned off. So:
1 - Inactivate HDMI-CEC
2 - Pair the Chromecast with Google TV with a Bluetooth device
3 - Turn the TV off
And now the Chromecast with Google TV is transformed to a Chromecast Audio 😊 Just cast audio only and it will play on the Bluetooth device.

It depends on your entire setup, but if you are casting with a normal Chromecast then it would need the tv on yes. The Chromecast audio was a wonderful little device that made dumb speakers smart, but with the advent of built in Chromecast they went the way of the dinosaur. You may be able to find one on eBay ?
