Hi there,
here’s my issue. My Chromecast (unsure of what gen it is, but just the normal black round device) is in the wall behind the tv. So I got my tv mounted on the wall and the Chromecast is behind the wall with all the cords and cables. Obviously I cannot get to it to reset it.
so at the moment I can’t cast to one tv because I can’t reset the device. The tv shows up on google home, however it shows device disconnected and so I can’t reset it that way.
does anyone know how I can reset it somehow without getting someone in to remove the tv off the wall and rescue the Chromecast? The tv is 65 inch so I can’t do that…and I wouldn’t do that anyway.
gery frustrating to say the least. Hindsight I wouldn’t have it there again.

What do you do if you need to replace a HDMI cable or other cable connected behind the TV? Is there any clearance left behind the TV to allow some access?
If there is about two fingers of available space behind the TV mount, you can use long nose pliers to grab a hold on Chromecast HDMI cable and slowly pull it out of the TV port.
If enough ckearence is not available, I'm sorry to say it, but, any issue behind the TV will require an unmount.
It would have been a good idea to use a HDMI cable extender before connecting the Chromecast device behind the TV.

Thanks for the response. I can check but I know I couldn’t get my hand in there. I will see what I can put in and grab it

As a suggestion, it may be a good idea to search for an upgrade TV mount, which allows for enough clearance behind the TV. It will not only offer access, but it will also allow more air to move and help ventilation and cooling components.
