Chromecast not casting

Im casting from my laptop (windows) to the TV via home network and gen2.  It attempts to connect.  The laptop indicates its casting and the TV attempts to connect but then returns to 'Ready to Cast'.  Ive factory reset chromecast and reconnected but.................. nothing.

I apologize about the late response, thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that casting issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, as I know troubleshooting can be tricky when there are so many factors involved. Let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:

  • When did this issue start happening?
  • Are you connected to a 2.4GHz network or a 5GHz network?
  • If you are connected to a 5GHz network, is the Wi-Fi channel set to a lower range? (36-48)
  • Are you able to cast from another device, such as a phone or tablet?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?
