Chromecast now crashing when exiting YouTube

So like most people I usually cast videos to my TV from my phone. usually I queue up tons of videos one after another and they play just fine.

After the recent youTube update, or maybe an update to the Chromecast itself exiting the app during playback results in the video immediately stopping returning to the default YouTube cast screen.

This must be a bug, but honestly given Google's behavior over the past few years I wouldn't be surprised if this was done on purpose. If it is by design then whoever suggested should be fired and I will deposit my Chromecast in trash where it belongs.

This is the way I've used my Chromecast for years and if I have to be physically staring at a YouTube screen without even any video playing on my phone to watch it on my TV then this device is basically garbage. Such a shame for one of the few products I use literally daily for hours on end, but just like Google Music I wouldn't be at all surprised if management ruined it on purpose.

Hey there,
Sorry for the late response, but I wanted to drop in here to help.

I understand that these issues can be confusing but I definitely wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

Just wanted to double check to see if you were still needing help on this? If so, what troubleshooting steps have you tried?

Please let me know.

Best regards,
Garrett DS
