Chromecast says offline when clearly connected to wifi

My chrome-cast regularly will go offline from the google home app while clearly being connected to wi-fi and displaying on my TV.

Factory resetting always solves the problem (but only temporarily as its a matter of hours/days before I have to do it again?

I have found some old threads with the same issue but not with a confirmed fix.

Anyone can help?

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. A few questions: what Chromecast device are you using? Did you get any message on the TV screen? What other steps have you tried aside from factory reset?

 

Give the steps below a try and let me know how it goes:

 

  • Ensure that your phone is only using your Wi-Fi by switching off cellular data.
  • Test with another phone/device to isolate.
  • Reboot your phone/device, Chromecast and Wi-Fi router.
  • Isolate possible network issues by using mobile hotspot.
