Chromecast shows Resolution and FPS in the bottom right corner
Ever since I installed Windows 11 update 2 days ago, anything I cast from my PC through Chromecast displays screen resolution and a rolling time clock at the bottom right of the screen.

Hey there hilfordjames,
Welcome to the Chromecast Community Forum! After doing some research online, it looks like this is something Windows itself is doing with something called Windows Insider. Users online have reported that after upgrading to Windows 11 using the Beta build, this started to appear. They also said to remove it, they had to downgrade to the normal Windows 11 build.
I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!
Best regards,
Jeran

Thanks for doing some research on this, the only problem is that I'm not actually subscribed or part of the Windows Insider scheme

Hiya hilfordjames,
No problem, if you don't mind, would you be able to post a screenshot or a picture of the resolution and showing? Also, if you have your Chrome browser creating debug logs, go ahead and disable that as well.
Best regards,
Jeran

I don't have any chrome debugging on as far as I'm aware
10-04-2022 01:39 PM
Hey there hilfordjames,
That is strange, for sure. If you don't mind, would you be able to cast from Google Canary to see if that display is still present?
I look forward to your response!
Best regards,
Jeran

with Canary - still has annoying numbers

Hi there hilfordjames,
In this scenario, it may be best to talk with Chromecast Support, as they have more tools to help look into this. If you have the time, would you be able to fill out this form to have them get a hold of you?
Best regards,
Jeran
10-04-2022 02:16 PM
Sure I'll do that now
10-04-2022 02:23 PM
Hopefully someone can resolve this issue, it definitely started with the last windows update, but for some reason pathetic windows had turned off the system restore by itself so now my only option is full system restore
10-04-2022 02:39 PM
Hey there hilfordjames,
Awesome, thank you for filling that out! You should have someone from Chromecast Support reach out to you shortly. Unless you had any more questions for us here on the forum, I'll go ahead and lock this thread in 24 hours.
Best regards,
Jeran
10-04-2022 03:13 PM
Can you not lock it until a solution is found please
10-04-2022 03:26 PM
Hey there hilfordjames,
No problem, if Chromecast Support helps you find a solution, please feel free to post it here.
Best regards,
Jeran

I've not heard anything back from Chromecast at all
10-06-2022 03:49 PM
Hey there hilfordjames,
No problem at all, I'll bump the case, so they get a hold of you. Rest assured, I won't lock this thread until they do.
Best regards,
Jeran

Just an FYI - I've just done a fresh install of Windows 11 Pro and the problem still exists
10-07-2022 09:26 AM
Hey there hilfordjames,
I'll keep that in mind for future troubleshooting. If you don't mind, when Chromecast Support helps resolve this issue, would you mind coming back with the solution?
Best regards,
Jeran
10-07-2022 02:03 PM
Yes absolutely
10-12-2022 02:32 PM
Chrome has not managed to get a handle on this problem yet, but in the meantime here are more people having the same issue
10-13-2022 09:52 AM
Hey there hilfordjames,
It's interesting that the thread is 3 years old, the problem must be very uncommon. I don't suppose you've already tried the troubleshooting they tried in that post already?
Best regards
Jeran
10-13-2022 02:15 PM
Yes tried all that before initiating this post.
10-14-2022 10:14 AM
Hey there hilfordjames,
Shoot, I'm sorry to hear that. In this case, I would just keep talking with Chromecast Support via e-mail, and let us know what they've told you.
I look forward to hearing back.
Best regards,
Jeran

So far the only thing they've said is that they're escalating it - no problem solving actions yet.
10-17-2022 06:21 AM
Did you get a solution for this? I have the same problem.
10-17-2022 11:33 AM
Hi - we're still waiting for Chrome to investigate
10-21-2022 03:09 PM
What operating system are you running? And are you part of the windows insider programme?
10-24-2022 08:52 PM
Thank you for replying.
I’m running the latest release of Windows 11 Pro. I am not part of the Windows Insider Programme.
10-25-2022 02:56 AM
That's very interesting - so far it appears to be an insider and Windows 11 Pro issue.
I wonder if Windows 11 Pro is running the insider programme mods and therefore producing the same issues as the insider problem because it has the same 'bugs'.
Chrome is still saying they're working on the issue.
10-28-2022 06:37 PM
Has there been any update on this? I am received the numbers on the bottom right and am trying to find a solution. I wouldn’t have updated windows if I knew this was going to happen.
10-29-2022 11:18 PM
I feel exactly the same way, however even after a fresh download and install of Windows 11 Pro the problem still exists!
Not heard from Chrome and I've also started a thread on a Windows 11 forum and so far no interest

Windows 11 Forum suggested casting from VLC which I managed and there aren't any time or date staps on the TV, so more and more likely its a Chrome Web browser problem?

Another update on this issue - I've removed Chrome and all its associated files using Revo Uninstaller and then done a reboot and installed a fresh version of Chrome but then not signed in and cast my desktop (in case it was my Chrome profile settings), but still had the same issue
11-05-2022 02:28 PM
Have this issue with Edge cast on win11
11-20-2022 04:08 PM
Still waiting for Chrome to respond
11-25-2022 12:52 AM
I have the same issue. It's not tv related either..
11-30-2022 03:31 PM
Same here... weird nobody knows what's happening....
12-01-2022 02:26 PM
Yes its very frustrating how useless and slow they are....
Latest email from them was Sat 26/11/2022 with them requesting I use Canary Chrome to test the problem - however I've already done this and it makes no difference.
12-01-2022 02:28 PM
Im using edge obviusly chromium and with Chromecast Tv 1080p is still there
12-01-2022 02:35 PM
Thanks for the feedback - I'm constantly directing Chrome to this link so they can see what people have already tried to do to problem solve
