Hi. I have been using the chrome cast since we bought it in November last year without any issues. Today the remote does not allow us to switch on, move to Netflix, or move to YouTube. The voice remote does not work. The volume control from the remote does work. I have changed the batteries but we experience the same issue.

If you're happy the batteries are good, try these steps:
In most cases, your remote will pair automatically after you insert the batteries. If it doesn’t, follow the steps on the TV screen, or press and hold the Back and Home buttons on the remote for 3 seconds.

Hi David.
When you say 'Using your phone or other remote to navigate, go to Settings > Remote & Accessories' where is this? The Google Home app? On my TV? Neither seem to have this option.
Do you have any idea why the device would suddenly stop working?
After holding the Back and Home buttons on the remote a white light appears at the bottom of the remote. It stayed on for about 20 seconds. However, the remote still operates nothing apart from the TV volume.
Please let me know if you can help.

You can use your phone as your Google TV remote.
I don't have any insight into why it'd stop working unfortunately.

Hi folks,
Thanks for the help, davidking.
christopherlace, how's it going with your Chromecast Voice Remote? Do you still need help with this? If so, please replace all batteries at the same time. Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not use lithium-ion or any other batteries with rated voltage above 1.5 V. Resetting your Chromecast and Chromecast Voice Remote might also help.
Thanks,
Jennifer
