Chromecast suggestions for services I don't have

Hello all,

I used to have Hulu.  Now, just YouTube TV and Netflix.  I bought a Chromecast with Remote and couldn't be happier.  My Side-Click add-on remote makes it awesome.  However, I have cancelled Hulu and signed out and uninstalled the Hulu app from my Chromecast.  Now, I still get Hulu suggestions on my Chromecast home screen and I don't want that.  It seems to me that I should only get suggested watchable content suggestions for apps that I actually have installed.  I cannot find a way to remove Hulu suggestions.  Please advise.

Thanks,

Curt

Hi curtc, have you tried going to settings and unlinking items specifically in the CCwGTV? Try looking in settings/accounts & sign-in/your services. I'd check there to make sure that Hulu isn't still linked.

Just a point of info, your account with Hulu may still be open, it is standard practice in the industry to pay in advance for streaming services, so while you may have canceled, say September 1st, you may have been billed on August 31st, so you may still have access until the next billing period. If that's not the case, it may take time for those Hulu programs to fall off. While clutter, it won't otherwise hamper your viewing of programs and services you've subscribed to going forward.

Wow!  I didn't know that was there.  Thank you!  I figured that since I uninstalled the Hulu app (months ago) then that would completely remove it.  Stadia and SlingTV was also enabled there even though I cancelled/uninstalled those months ago too.  Oddly, FuboTV and Philo (also uninstalled months ago) showed disabled in there.  I guess some disable it in there when uninstalled and some don't.

Another weird thing is that while I can disable SlingTV in there, when I exit and come back in, it's enabled again.  I double checked that the SlingTV app was not installed.

Yeah, sometimes it takes some digging, but glad you found it and your issue is resolved.
