Chromecast ultra on new wifi

Chromecast previously worked great. I recently upgraded my WiFi(same isp just better WiFi) now to connect to chromecast it has to be reset every time and the google home app will say nothing is on TV. If I try to switch to a different app to cast from the chromecast doesn’t even show up. I’ve hard reset chromecast. Unplugged my router. Tried pretty much everything

Hi Devinv2532,

Thanks for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your Chromecast Ultra. Let's sort this out.

A few questions: what's the LED status on your Chromecast Ultra? How far is it from the Wi-Fi router? Please make sure your phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromecast Ultra. Also, try the additional steps below:

  1. Reboot your mobile phone.
  2. Plug in the Chromecast Ultra into a different HDMI port on your TV.
  3. Try to cast from a different mobile device.
  4. Try to connect to a mobile hotspot. This is to isolate the issue.
  5. Do another reset on your Chromecast, then manually connect to the Chromecast SSID. Here's how: go to the phone’s Settings > Open Wi-Fi and connect to the Chromecast SSID (Example: Chromecast1234, Living Room TV, Bedroom TV, etc.) > Go to the Google Home app and try to set it up again.

Thanks,

Jennifer
