Chromecast with Google TV 4k needs to be

michalwilk

Hi, I've got my Chromecast for a week now and since the secknd day I have to power off the Chromecast and start it again in order to show the image on my TV. I've already tried to reset it to default 3 times and configure all over, but even after, I've got same issue. In addition, Chromecast is visible in Google Home app on my Android smartphone. Please advise

If I set mine to 4k 30hz I don't have to restart it everytime I go to use it.

When set to 4k 60hz is when I have the issue.

I filled out the form, and they contacted me back asking about an issue casting using Chromecast, which was not what I filled out as my problem.

Hi michalwilk,

Thanks for reaching out. Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Chromecast with Google TV.  Could you tell me what type of TV it's connected to? Have you tried a different HDMI cable?  Does the Chromecast also have no sound, or is it just the image?

Here are some things you can try:

  • Check for Chromecast software updates.
  • Make sure the HDMI cable is securely plugged into both the Chromecast and your TV.
  • Try using a different HDMI cable. A faulty cable could be the culprit.
  • If possible, connect the Chromecast to a different TV to see if the issue persists.

To learn more about this you can see the following information: TV has no signal or only shows a black screen. Let me know how it goes.

Sincerely,

Jonathan

Try a different HDMI Cable? It's a Chromecast!

Like I mention in first post, I've already reset it 3 times to default so the latest update was automatically installed while configuring.

Furthermore I've tried with 2 more TV (initial Philips 4K 55" 2019, Samsung 4K 42" 2022 and Samsung 4K 55" 2015 on all HDMI inputs (10 in total) and video grabber.

Every single day since, I bought this, I have to power it off and on to see an image on a screen.

I have the same problem. I've had my GCWTV 4k for over 3 years and this just started a month or two ago. Apparently it's a well-known issue, I tried to post here but it's been closed no solution, https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Chromecast/Chromecast-with-Google-TV-needs-to-be-unplugged-da....

I've tried everything as well different TV, different input different power supply, and factory reset. Still doing it. System update says it's on the latest update.
