When I try to view content from prime video I can enter the app and view its offerings without a problem but when I try to view a a specific program am getting the following error message " Something went wrong, Please try again later. For more help go to Amazon.com/videohelp". When I try to view the same content from my Roku, everything runs fine. When I try to run Netflix , I can see the content within the app, but when I try to play a specific program I receive the following "We're having trouble playing this title right now. please try again later or select a different title. Again, if I try to view the same program from Netflix on my Roku, everything runs fine.
This problem just started happening within the last week. Was there an update that cold have caused these problems?

I’m having the same issue. Restart of the Chromecast allows a play again on 3rd party apps, but once that session is finished the same problem happens in all apps (besides YouTube TV) again.
I have two Chromecast Devices of this same model, and this is only occurring on 1 of them.

I was having the same problem and tried everything, cache clearing, re-installing apps, factory reset (hadn’t heard about this force stop yttv aspect until now, makes sense. Try to force stop YouTube TV in settings then launch 3rd party app like Netflix). I have 2 CCwGTV purchased at the same time and only 1 has this problem. I just got off the phone with Google customer care and they verified that the SN of the unit having this issue is eligible for replacement. I recommend going that route as it’s not every device of this type having this issue. Customer care was quick, I ran through all the steps I had already taken, the SN of the device, and have already received my shipping request all within 30 minutes of calling.

One user says this and it worked. I still am getting a replacement CCwGTV unit though.
”Are you starting youtube TV before the problem starts? If you are yttv leaves 'media playback services running' in error causing your problem. Work around is to force stop yttv. Not great but hopeful yttv will fix the app.”

Hi folks,
Thanks for reaching out to the Chromecast community forum!
BJES1971, may I know what troubleshooting steps have you tried so far? Have you also tried the suggested steps posted by MTrim? If yes, how was it?
MTrim, thanks for the suggestion. Let us know if the issue still occurs with your replacement device.
Thanks,
Jennifer

I am awaiting my replacement GCCwYTTV this week. I’m hopeful that the new unit wil not have the same problem but it seems so common that I can’t help but think the issue needs to be addressed by YouTube rather than here with Chromecast.
Do you know if this is the correct place to request help or report this issue?

Hi MTrim,
Thanks for keeping me in the loop. You can also reach out with YouTube to report this issue, or you may send feedback using the Google Home app. Here's how.
Thanks,
Jennifer

Hi, I have been trying to find a solution to this issue along with many other users. I ended up replacing my CCwGTV and just today, on the same day the new one arrived, I tried one more thing on the old one and seemed to have fixed it. From what we all can tell the issue stems from starting the YTTV app and then when switching to another 3rd party app the issue then occurs. Try restarting the device then immediately streaming a 3rd party app to see if it works. If you start YTTV then switch to another app, it may not play a video. You can Force Quit YTTV in the settings and try a 3rd party app again to see if that works. Those are workarounds for this issue. However, my old one started to work properly again today. It was one thing that you should try that is buried in settings for apps.
Open Settings, Go to Apps, Manage Updates, See Available Updates, then Install any Pending Updates. Specifically if there is one for Google TV Home (July 27, 2022)
Let us know if that helps. Even though auto update is set, there were still some pending (for quite a while) and it worked after they were installed. Good Luck!
* I did install my new CCwGTV and updated everything manually. It seems to be working fine.
