Hi,
I have a Chromecast with google tv, and whenever I switch from a Dolby Atmos source (Neflix, Prime Video) to Youtube (DD+) I hear a super annoying crackling sound. The problem goes away once I restart my TV, but this is not ok.
What I tried:
1. Resetting Chromecast to factory settings => the problem came back
2. Switched my audio sistem from a Logitech Z906 to a Denon 3700 AV receiver + Monitor audio sistem = > the problem persisted.
3. Tried the same sequence on my Philips tv with Android tv = > did not get the same cracling sound as with Chromecast.
This, corraborated with the fact that I can reproduce the issue 100% of the time by going from Netflix (a dolby Atmos movie) to Youtube, pin points the issue to the Chromecast.
What else can I try to fix this issue? Has anyone else noticed this?

I have a similar issue, but it doesn't seem to matter which app I switch to. If the content was Atmos, when I switch away from it all the speakers will crackle until I pick something new to watch.

Hello dumitrudan608,
Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us. To cover all the bases, could you please tell us where the Chromecast is plugged in, is it in the TV or on your AV receiver? Please try the additional steps below:
Let me know how it goes.
Thanks,
Jennifer

About the connection, I tried the same action, from Netflix Atmos to YouTube DD +, connected directly to Tv => cracking sound, connected through the Receiver which is connected to TV => no sound at all, so there is definitely an issue there. I am using a network dock with PD. I will test it without to see if there is a difference, but at the moment I can't find the remote.
Any idea if there is any way to find the remote in the house, through Bluetooth or something?

Hey there dumitrudan608,
I'm sorry to say, but there isn't a way to track the remote. In this situation, I'd recommend that you use the Virtual Remote built into the Google Home app. Check out this article for more information on that.
Best regards,
Jeran

Hi Archie, turns out it was the dock I was using for wired network connectivity that was causing the cracling sound.
Can you tell me if there are any USB C docks with PD and RJ45 network connector that are approved to be used with Chromecast?
