Using your mobile data plan could be expensive for you depending on the data plan you have with your carrier.
Although unsupported by Google, note you will need 2 devices to set this up.

I have unlimited data on my phone, not on my tablet. Per my cellular carrier, this should ok. SO if I connect my tablet along w my cell on the hotspot, will that take care of this? Like I said, all my neighboors wifi's are all listed on the page and per my cellular company my acct should be on there in the form of my username and or password but its not, is this true? thank you for replying!

OK will try it when I get home, I have the app on my phone, thats OK correct? Also regarding the HDMI cable, I will be able to view Dish network w/o changing the cable back once I get chromecast installed correct? thanks again for yr help

No, you'll need the Google Home app on the tablet, not your phone.
As for Dish network, you can certainly cast video from the DISH Anywhere app to your TV using Chromecast.

Hi folks,
Thanks for the help, davidking.
@Bill9, how's it going? Still need help with this? If so, please use your phone as the hotspot and your tablet to set up your Chromecast. Download the Google Home app on your tablet and connect it to the hotspot on your phone then begin the setup.
Note: You may try to set up your Chromecast or troubleshoot as normal, but this may fail to connect as a hotspot is not supported or recommended to use.
Thanks,
Jennifer

Hi Jennifer thank you for the clarification, will try this and report back the result.
Dumb question but after I install the Chormcast, I assume I can go back to watching Dish by using my remote correct?

Hey Bill9,
Sounds like a plan! Yes, you should still be able to switch to your regular cable using your TV remote. You only need to press on the input button on the TV remote.
Best,
Jennifer

Jennifer my tablet wouldnt let me download Google Home for whatever reason, it just sits there and spins for a long time, might it be a KB issue w my tablet? thanks

Hi there,
Thanks for getting back to us. Please make sure your tablet has the latest OS version and have enough space to download an app. Rebooting your tablet and making sure that it's connected to a network might also help.
Let me know how it goes.
Thanks,
Jennifer

Hey there Bill9,
Here is how to get a hold of Chromecast support. You'll just need to go through the prompts, and it will give you the option to call support, have support call you, or talk with support via online chat.
I hope that helps you out!
Best regards,
Jeran
