Crave won't Chromecast

I have crave Canada and Chromecast on my android phone.

At first last fall it worked. I could watch Crave on my older 43" Sony flatscreen t.v.

Then, out if the blue, it started crashing after watching any show. After the crash Crave woukd go to the next episode, or just show the Crave logo. I tried dozens and dozens of times to reboot, realizing that it crashed in 15 second multiples, i.e. runtime 0:15, 2:45, 3:15, 8:00. No rhyme or reason.

I communicated with Crave/Bell and tried over a dozen fixes through 7 Crave upgrades. Still pfffffft. Can only watch Crave on my cell: will NOT properly work with Chromecast (Gen 3).

WTH? Whomever at fault here? Google/Chromecast or Crave /Bell?

My Chromecast works broadcasting to my t.v. (using Google Home app) Netflix, CBC Gem, Prime, YouTube and Disney. I have all these.

Who is responsible? Crave insists that it's a Google problem and Google industry that's its a Crave/Bell problem.

Any advice from anyone? Other than a law suit or report to the Fed gov't?

  • When did this issue start happening?
  • Is Crave the only app experiencing this issue?
  • What is the firmware version of your Chromecast?
  • Is your Google Home app up-to-date?
  • Are you able to cast from any other device, such as a computer or tablet?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?
