The default chromecast power connector gives by design too little power.
I replaced the default power connector from google with a samsung fast power connector usb-c connected, the google cable to the chromecast and it worked in seconds.
De default google usb-c connector always complains about no power connected while the samsung connector with the google cable connected works!!

Hi Jennifer, thank you for your help. I don't need further assistance, my issue has been resolved by replacement of the connector with a stronger version. I took this decision because if the power was really off I didn't get the check power message at all. My thoughts where, maybe the default connector needs a little more power. Because the default connector did give this check power from day one I used the Chromecast with Google TV. It was eventually working after switching power off and on for 20+ times. I was just wondering maybe when I use a connector with 30w of power it will work and my Chromecast worked right away.
No further assistance is needed I'll just keep using the 30w connector.

Hi Arthuro,
Thanks for posting and for sharing your experience about our device. It's still recommended to use the original power connector that comes with the Chromecast, but glad to hear that the third-party device also works with it. You can try to check if the power adapter or connector isn't damaged. Also, I'd suggest you send feedback about this using the Google Home app. Here's how.
Thanks,
Jennifer

I have this issue with the original power connector from day one I and it did work for a while after resetting Chromecast with Google TV for 20+ times. I used the Chromecast on holiday and again this same issue with low power. Then I used the 30w Samsung adapter and the Chromecast with Google TV worked in a second. Don't think it's broken, just to little power. I will give my feedback using Google Home
