Generic USB-C hubs PD and Ethernet

Hello Team

I have the Chromecast with Google TV. It works well on Wifi and provided a power supply however 1080p and 4k movies struggle and buffer often.

So I got my first USB-c hub with PD 2.0 and connected it to a Dell 65w power supply. I also attached a 32GB memory stick fat32 formated. The device comes on and connects to wifi does not see a memory card or ethernet. Reseting the device Unplugging and plugging in again. Waiting 2 min each time to power reset. So I got another USB-C hub also with PD 2.0, 6 in 1  model Hoco hb16. I have the same problem.

The same problem. Now iunderstand from alot of these forums that picking a hub that will work is tricky. The ones recomended I cannot get in my country. I do know that most of these are based on a common chipset that is pretty generic.

So is there a list of tested hubs? Is there a chipset to look out for? Specks and requirements for the hub to work?

So sort of standards of compliance?

Note that not all brands are available worldwide. so generic as possible, please.

I am using generic hub with one usb-c, usb-a and hdmi out and works fine with all my accessories. I just had to use 30 Wh phone charger to make it work but detects everything, even usb-a to ethernet.

Hi folks,

Thanks for the suggestion, emgi2.

ChuckStrut, while we don't have a specific brand to recommend, you may also try the ethernet adapter for Chromecast with Google TV that is sold in the Google Store. You may check here

Thanks,

Jennifer
