Google Chromecast switching TV on and off

Hi there 

I bought Google Chromecast a few months ago everything was fine, until recently it started switching my TV (Samsung) on and off 

- the Chromecast is connected to its own power source 

- it's not hot at all 

One things that does happen when I turn the volume up on my TV and a song comes on it switches on and off rapidly but when people talk everything is fine until they either scream or talk loudly

This is not the experience that we wanted you to have, let me help you out. A few things: which Chromecast device are we working with? Are you still using the original power cord that came in the box with the Chromecast device? Is the Chromecast plugged in snugly and directly to the power outlet? Was there any recent power outage? Have you tried powering the Chromecast using both the power outlet and USB port? Have you tried plugging another device (phone, tablet, etc.) into the outlet?

If it’s plugged into a surge protector go ahead and plug it directly into a power outlet. Check if the power adapter is not damaged too.

Hope you are well.

its the Google Chromecast with Google TV, i am still using the original cable and power plug that came with the box. It is directly plugged into its own power point.

i do live in South Africa and we do have constant power outages(Load shedding) honestly multiple times a day, the outlets are fine and working properly on the TV.

There is a surge protector on the power outlet, when i did take it off the TV was still switching on and off with the Chromecast

The power adapter is not damaged I did try using it with a different one but it gave me the same result.

like i said before when I turn the volume up on my TV and a song comes on it switches on and off rapidly but when people talk everything is fine until they either scream or talk loudly
