Google Home App hasn't requested local network access

I have been trying to setup my Chromecast and get stuck connecting because I am supposed to allow "local network access" however when I go to this settings on my iPhone the Google Home app doesn't show up because it has never requested this access. My phone and the app are fully updated. I can't find a way to get the app to request access through the app and I've tried deleting the app and redownloading.

any suggestions?

Hey there jeremiah34w,

I apologize about the late response, thank you for being patient on this! Were you able to find that Local Network Access setting? If not, I'd be happy to help out, as I know I get lost looking for settings in my phone all the time. Here are the steps found in this article:

  1. On your iOS device’s home screen (iOS 14 or later), tap Settings
  2. Tap Privacy and then Local Network. You’ll find a list of apps.
  3. Turn on Local Network Access for the app(s) you would like to allow access to your network. This will allow permissions for your device to discover Cast-enabled devices.

I hope that helps, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know.

Best regards,
Jeran
