Google TV does not show YouTube (or other apps) search results on TV via assistant

Hi, I'm having a very similar issue as outlined in this question: https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Chromecast/Google-Home-says-it-s-showing-YouTube-options-on-t... but instead, no videos play after the assistant responds with "Sorry, something went wrong". Unfortunately, the thread doesn't give a solution. I'm using a Samsung TV with Google nest audio and Chromecast with Google TV. I would really appreciate some help or details on how the previous issue was resolved!

Hey there jchen373,

I apologize about the late response on this thread, thank you for being patient! Sadly, it looks like there never was a resolution on the other thread, as it may have been an assistant error, so we had OP send over the logs from his devices to the engineering team for them to look into it. I'd be happy to dig into this issue a little deeper, let me just ask some questions about your set-up:

  • When did this issue start happening?
  • Does this issue only occur when asking the assistant on the Google Nest Audio, or on the Chromecast Voice Remote as well?
  • What is the firmware version of the Chromecast and Google Nest Audio?
  • Is your Google Home app up-to-date?
  • Are all devices on the same Wi-Fi band?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?
