Google home and android TV

I’m sure the answer is no but I want tobe certain.

I have an android TV setup to my home theater.

TV is new -

home theatre is not. ( can only connect to internet via Ethernet).

I also have first generation Google minis set up up around the house. (As a group).

I am connecting the home theatre to Pandora (which miraculously is a free account but I don’t get a zillion ads).

I’d like to stream from the home theatre //TV to the other speakers.

The TV is a part of my Google Home - account but I do not see any way to add an additional device to cast.

I’m having a party and it would be great to play through my stereo and add a few addition mini speakers.

Pandora on via Google home has too many ads.

I'm pretty sure this is not possible but I figured I’d give it a shot.

TIA

Would it work to set up those speakers as Bluetooth and share /cast the stream?

If your Android TV supports it, add it to a new Speaker Group along with your Minis

Then, tell Pandora to cast to that Speaker Group

Unfortunately, if your Google Home doesn't give you the option to add your TV to a Group that means that your device doesn't support it and you can't force it.

Thanks Jerem.  I hadn’t seen this so I’ll try oddly - my phone only sees 1 stereo set of speakers - not showing all of my devices when I go to add a group.  Everybody on same WiFi - all speakers respond to my commands.  Can you have more than 1 audio group?

Hiya meglmt,

As far as I am aware, there is no limit on how many speaker groups you can add. Check out this article for more information on speaker groups.

Let me know if you have any more questions, we're always happy to help!

Best regards,

Jeran
