Google tv remote center button becoming unresponsive

The center button on our remote is becoming unresponsive. All the other buttons function normally but we have to press the center button repeatedly for it to activate. Given it's the selection button, it makes things very difficult.

I can't find any information on how to get it replaced under warranty.

Sorry for the late reply. Could you try the additional steps below and let me know how it goes?

  1. Check for pending remote software updates. Go to Settings > Remotes and Accessories > Remote update > Continue. The remote may briefly disconnect during the software update.
  2. Forget the Chromecast Voice Remote. Go to  Settings > Remotes and Accessories > Chromecast Remote > Forget.
  3. Pair the remote. Go to  Settings > Remotes and Accessories > Pair remote or accessory and follow the instructions on the TV.
    Note: If applicable, you may also press the button on the Chromecast device for 1 second for the pairing to start.
  4. Remove and replace the batteries in the Chromecast Voice Remote.

If you want to replace your Chromecast device, contact the retailer from which you bought the Chromecast device.

Alternatively, you can use the software remote built-in to Google Home application.

@PhDad, still need help with this? You could also try resetting your Voice Remote and Chromecast, then test.

Resets haven't helped.

We bought it from the Google store in December 2020.

I honestly could not find a way to contact support in any meaningful way
