We originally has a first gen and third gen chrome cast in our flat in separate rooms.
we upgraded the first gen to the third gen and now we have to restore factory setting almost every time we want to cast to the TV.
I can see the chrome casts in the Google home app and can for example change the visual picture on the tv. But when I click into any app to cast something it says no device found and I have to reconnect it all. This is very frustrating.

Hey there Emily4,
I apologize about the late response, thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that casting issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, as I know I would be pretty frustrated as well. Let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:
I would make sure that the Google Home app is up-to-date, and the LED light on the Chromecast looks good. If you are able to, try connecting the Chromecast to a different HDMI port, or even a different TV, and see if the problem persists. It wouldn't hurt to follow the steps listed in this article as well.
I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!
Best regards,
Jeran
