Incompatible adapters?

Hello. I just bought these two adapters from aliexpress. One for connecting ethernet to my Chromecast (with google tv) and the other to connect a usb stick for more storage. They both work when used alone, but when I connect them together only the usb hub works.

Is there any way to fix this or did I just waste my money? These are the adapters:

Ethernet adapter 

USB hub

Hi there,

It could be that you will need a better USB C power adapter of at least 45 watts to power the extra peripherals.

Most users that I have seen purchase a USB C Hub that includes an ethernet port. Have a look at the link below for some recommend hubs
