Iphone doesn't show chromecast icon

I can chromecast fine from my own Android phone but my girlfriend's IPhone and W10 PC cannot. I have checked the IPhone and PC is on the same network as the chromecast.

When she starts Netflix the icon sometimes briefly appears but then half a second later dissapers again. I tried factory reset and complete reinstallation of the chromecast.

Can it have something to do with her Google account? I thought I had set it up so everyone on the wifi could cast.

Hey there Thomasuc,

I apologize about the late response, thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that casting issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, since I know these issues can be hard to fix on your own. Let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:

  • When did this issue start happening?
  • What is the firmware version of your Chromecast?
  • Do you have a dual-band router?
  • Can your girlfriend's iPhone cast from any app, or Google Chrome?
  • Does the iPhone have Bluetooth and Local Network Access enabled?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?

I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!

Best regards,
Jeran
