Issues with youtube on chromecast

Chromecast has been working fine but today when i tried youtube it didn't sign in. [the chromecast home screen is signed in correctly] when i clicked signin in youtube said error signing in try later]. Following advice on line I unplugged the chromecast for over a minute and the reconnected. This time my account videos appeared but the youtube menu [with signin, history, watch later, subscriptions, etc.] have dissapeared. There is nothing on tje left side of the screen. I can cast using chromecast on my phone but recommendations when I use the remote to access youtube. The firmware version is 1.56.276477.

Any help or advice much appreciated.

There is a known issue with YouTube services right now:

Hi folks,

 

The issue has been fixed. You should now be able to log in, switch between accounts, and use the account menu & navigation bar across all services (YouTube, YouTubeTV,  YouTube Music, YouTube Studio) and devices. Check the info here.

I am experiencing the same issue on both of my Chromecast devices in my house. All Google apps fail to load or sign in. All of my other apps work just fine and my Google account shows that I am logged in to both of those devices successfully. They have worked great up until now and I've had no issues. I reset my network connection on both devices. I did a reset within the device itself and I have unplugged it and waited and performed a hard restart with no luck. I am confident that the issue is on Google's side and not my own. Those apps work just fine on my gaming consoles, computers and my phone. But both Chromecast devices are experiencing the same issue.
