Language of titles, descriptions and trailers not selected language

I live in Germany but my Google TV and all my streaming apps online, on Android and on Google TV, as well as my assistant, are in English. After starting the Disney+, Netflix, or Amazon Prime apps on Chromecast Google TV the trailer language and description texts are in English but on the Chromecast with Google TV the titles, descriptions, and trailers of suggestions keep switching between German and English. Mostly they stay in German. For example, in Disney+ the title of different (English) series and movies will be shown either in English or German without any apparent reason. I do have German as a second/alternative language in my assistant preferences, though. Could this pose a problem?

Since my first post, the language of the movie titles on the Google TV home screen, as seen in the small suggestion rows (for lack of a better term), are all shown correctly in English. The Title and description of movies in the top tier "promotion screen" above the rows is still in German. Also, all trailers from any movie that I watch directly from Google TV are still shown only in German. Haven't seen an English trailer for some time now at all. As soon as I open any app and watch the trailer there, it is shown correctly in English since each of my streaming apps is set to English.

To forego repeating questions answered in another post:

  1. Does this issue only occur in the Disney+ app?
    1. No, inside the Disney+ app, all trailers and descriptions are shown correctly in English, as in all the other apps, as long as I watch the trailers inside them instead of the Google TV.
  2. Have you cleared the cached data in the Disney+ app?
    1. Yes, I have cleared the cache of all apps and the Google TV cache, no change.
  3. Do you have your location set up in the Google Home app?
    1. Do you mean my home location? Yes, it is set to  Germany, since I live in Germany.
  4. Do you have your location set up in the Google Play app?
    1. My location in Google Play is also Germany.
  5. What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?
    1. Several:
      1. Signed out of all accounts and back in
      2. Deleted all cache and data
      3. Restarted Google TV after changes to settings
      4. I tried several different languages without any change to the result

I have set German as the second language of my Google Assistant with English (US) as the first. I need this because of pronunciation errors in Maps if I have only English.  This should not be a problem, in this case, I hope?

Fact is, only on Google TV all the trailers are shown in German. The apps themselves show them in my chosen language as I want them to.

Hey there jakfie,

I apologize about the late response on this thread, thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that language issue? If not, there may be some problem with Google TV where it isn't always prioritizing the English language when you have two languages set up. If you have the time, would you be able to submit feedback via Google TV to let the Engineering team know about this interaction? While they won't respond directly back to you, this is the best way to let Google know about these kinds of issues.

I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!

Best regards,
Jeran
