Locating Mac address on Chromecast with Google TV HD

Hi,

I need to get the physical MAC address of my Chromecast with Google TV HD. I have read some instructions and other help topics but none are helpful. It says, at the startscreen, should be a "wheel" to access setup, but there is not. It is only possible to choose language. And when that is done the process to connect to WiFi starts with no possibility to view the MAC address.

I have to enter the physical MAC-address (not randomised) into my network to allow Chromecast connect to it.

If you're connecting to a Wi-Fi network that uses MAC address filtering, the only way to resolve this is to:

  1. Temporarily disable MAC address filtering on your router.
  2. Setup Chromecast as normal with the Google Home app.
  3. Once setup, on your Chromecast itself, go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi.
  4. Select your Wi-Fi network.
  5. Scroll down and select Advanced.
  6. Under Privacy, uncheck the box next to Use randomized MAC > Save.
  7. Open the Google Home app on your phone or tablet.
  8. Tap the Devices tab, then tap your Chromecast.
  9. Tap the Settings cog at the top right, then Device information. You'll see the MAC address at the bottom.
  10. Whitelist this MAC address in your router's settings. You can then re-enable MAC address filtering.
