Chromecast was working just fine for years. Now SOMETIMES when I try to cast from my laptop (Windows 10) it tells me "no device found“. Each time that happens I have to restart my laptop before the device is found again and I can stream just fine. I tried to use Chrome and Microsoft Edge to cast, same problem occurs on both. another laptop I have also has that problem. It just happens at random times and won't work until I restart the laptop.
