Pixel cannot set up an old Chromecast? Why?

I have some old Chromecast I've been setting up around the house but my pixel won't activate them. I've had to use my wife's iPhone (yuck!). Why do non-pixel devices set up older chromecasts but my Google Pixel 5a will not?

I'm really glad that you had another device that could run the set up. So many here in the Community only have a Pixel.

Hi Jennifer,

I appreciate the follow up but wish there was a different solution provided. One reason for buying a Pixel was the hope that Google products would work together harmoniously and effortlessly. Hopefully this can be resolved quickly. I do not understand what role Sonos plays in Chromecast technology but I am generally happy with the product.
