Poor quality cast from PC

Richard-R
Community Member

When casting from my phone to TV,  video stops showing on phone (which is fine), and quality is great on TV .

When casting from my Desktop PC to TV, video remains on PC and casts to TV. TV quality is rubbish.

I'm presuming that the drag to continue on both screens at the same time is too much. (PC & TV are both within arms reach of the modem.)

I don't need it to show on the PC while casting. Can I set it to "cast only" and not display on the PC? OR is there an easy fix out there somewhere please?

I'm almost sure cast used to offer to choose varying qualities. Does not seem to be the case now? Also, I'm not sure what Generation my Chromecast is.

Hey there Richard-R,

I apologize about the late response, thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that quality issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, since I personally have a hard time watching videos that are low quality. Let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:

  • When did this issue start happening?
  • What OS are you using?
  • Is your Google Chrome up-to-date?
  • Do you have the same issue when using Google Canary?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?

I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!

Best regards,
Jeran
