I recently moved house and I’ve lost my chrome cast ultra power supply, I found a similar one but an error message comes up as “non standard power supply detected, to stream in 4K use the power supply included with chrome cast ultra”, I got this over 4 years ago so I don’t know where the supply is, do they sell new ones? How can I get it working again?

Hey there Doona,
I apologize for the late response, thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that power issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, as I can imagine this issue is pretty confusing. Go ahead and check out this thread where someone had the same issue. You may need to just unplugged the power for a few seconds, and plug it back in. If that doesn't work, please let me know what kind of power supply you are using.
I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!
Best regards,
Jeran

It seems I’m using a regular chrome cast power supply, I read the ultra has a different power supply but I can’t seem to find one anywhere.

Hey there Doona,
Here are the technical specifications for the different Chromecast devices. The power supply the Chromecast Ultra needs is 5 Volt DC, 1 amp power supply. Check to see if that is the power supply you are currently using.

I was told you can’t use it without the original power supply, so I guess I can’t use it? The plug on the end of a 5 volt 1 amp is different, this one uses a usb plug.

Hey there Doona,
It is true that you are supposed to use the original power supply. However, some users have been able to use another 5 Volt DC, 1 amp power supply, though it isn't recommended by Google to do so. I was curious if the one you were trying to use met those power requirements, which is why I asked. In this case, you may need to look at if you can find another Chromecast Ultra power supply second-hand, or another Chromecast device.
Best regards,
Jeran
